As I type this - November 9, 2007 - the Irish media are full of the tragedy at Portlaoise Hospital where at least
seven local women were given the wrong cancer diagnosis. Whether this was done because of outmoded
mammography equipment or sheer human incompetence is currently under investigation. Wherever you are
in the world, please pause for a moment and think of these women and the trauma they are suffering.
