To romantics among you, disappointed by the absence of ruined castles, thatched cottages, sods of turf (well...), cailíní lepping around in celtic frocks, all I can say is that history is not just a thing of the past or a tourist board invention. It is happening all around us now, in the bits and pieces of living every day. Behind everything we think, do or say, everything we see or choose not to see, there is a history, an ancestry connecting us to those who have gone before.
